STREAMLINE at ESHG

We’re pleased to share a brief recap of our participation in European Human Genetics Conference (ESHG), held from May 24-27, 2025. in Milan, Italy. With nearly 7,000 total registrations from over 94 countries, this congress included Plenary Sessions, Concurrent Symposia, Educational Sessions, Workshops, Get2gether Sessions, Concurrent Sessions, Poster Viewing with Authors and Corporate Sessions covering many fields of genetics including molecular genetics and genomics, medical genetics and personalized medicine. This year STREAMLINE team members dr Danijela Drakulić, dr Nataša Kovačević Grujičić, dr Danijela Stanisavljević Ninković and Ivana Simeunović had a great opportunity to increase the visibility of the STREAMLINE Project and STREAMLINE hub among academic public. Our scientific team presented four posters:

  1. Establishment of a patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells with 22q11.2 microdeletion: a model system for studying neurodevelopmental disorders (Danijela Drakulic, Natasa Kovacevic-Grujicic, Mina Peric, Olena Petter, Ivana Simeunovic, Jovana Kostic, Goran Cuturilo, Adrian J. Harwood, Milena Stevanovic)
  2. Expression of miR-185 during neural differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells from patients with 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome (Danijela Stanisavljevic Ninkovic, Ivana Simeunovic, Danijela Drakulic, Natasa Kovacevic-Grujicic, Mina Peric, Jovana Kostic, Goran Cuturilo, Olena Petter, Adrian J. Harwood, Milena Stevanovic)
  3. Transcriptomic profiling of iPSCs-derived astrocytes from patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (Ivana Simeunovic, Natasa Kovacevic-Grujicic, Mina Peric, Olena Petter, Friederike Ehrhart, Jovana Kostic, Stefan Lazic, Goran Cuturilo, Laurence de Nijs, David Linden, Adrian J. Harwood, Milena Stevanovic, Danijela Drakulic)
  4. Establishment and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cells from patients with 22q11.2 Duplication Syndrome (Natasa Kovacevic-Grujicic, Jovana Kostic, Danijela Drakulic, Mina Peric, Ivana Simeunovic, Goran Cuturilo, Olena Petter, Adrian J. Harwood, Milena Stevanovic)

We had the pleasure of meeting with Prof. Donna McDonald-McGinn, MS, LCGC – Director of the 22q and You Center, Associate Director of the Clinical Genetics Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania – as well as with Dr. Anne Bassett, a senior clinician scientist within the Schizophrenia Division who heads the Clinical Genetics Research Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Canada.

We also had the opportunity to meet Dr. Mingyan Fang from BGI Research, our collaborator on the Mobility Project for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the People’s Republic of China.

ESHG 2025 provided an excellent opportunity for STREAMLINE теам members to discuss new project proposals and future collaborations.
